ORGANICALLY GROWN Mint Seeds, Heirloom, NON-GMO, Easy to Grow, Fragrant, Rich Flavor, RARE!

(Mentha pipareta)(24”-36”) Leaves are used in teas and iced drinks. Longer stalks and less hairy than spearmint; purple stems and very fragrant leaves are used to flavor tea, candy, liquors and medicines. A rampant grower so surround with a 10” edging to confine roots. Full or partial sun.

(Mentha Spicata) - Sweetly aromatic, Spearmint, can be used in both cooking and in potpourri and other fragrant decorative items. Spearmint herb is used to make mint jellies and sauces and of course, tea! Spearmint also has medicinal benefits as well. It is a wonderful addition for the garden that can easily be started with Spearmint herb seeds.
Leaves are used in teas and iced drinks. Super fragrant!

Mojito Cuban Mint
(Mentha villosa) a.k.a. Cuban Mint. Mojito Mint is a beautiful full leaved mint originating in Cuba. Easy to grow, its spearmint scent is mild and warm – not overbearing as other mints can be.

Catnip Catmint
(Nepeta cataria) Spoil your cat with fresh catnip! Your car will smile all the time! :-) Catnip – also called Catmint or True Catnip. As the name implies, catnip is ideal for cats, but can also be used to flavor teas. Catnip brings the good animals into the garden and keeps the pests away! Irresistible to cats and bees, it is a spreading, carefree joy in the bed or border, blooming all summer with fragrant flowers and foliage. We've known many gardeners who began growing Catnip to please their cats and were so delighted with these plants that they ended up a permanent feature in the garden! Dried, it is used as a stimulant for cats as well as an excellent tea to help you sleep.

Lemon Balm Melissa
Lemon Balm (Melissa Odorata) - Start Lemon Balm seeds and grow the soothing, aromatic herb right on the windowsill! Lemon Balm's most popular use is in soothing herbal teas, where its lemon-scented volatile oils are released. Chopped fresh leaves are also good in salads, soups and stews. The dried leaves are also a perfect ingredient for potpourri and dream pillows. Lemon Balm is also known as Sweet Balm and a synonymous botanical name is Melissa officinalis. Leaves are used in teas and iced drinks. Super fragrant!

Lemon Mint
(Monarda citriodora) (aka Lemon Bergamot, Lemon Bee Balm, Horsemint) Used by Native Americans for medicinal and culinary purposes. Citrus-flavored leaves can be minced and added to fruit jellies, teas, salads, smoothies. Beautiful purplish bracts, 24-30" tall. Aromatic and colorful in fall. With a delightful lemon scent and lavender flowers, this wildflower is a favorite of butterflies and hummingbirds. Aromatic foliage makes it deer resistant. Self-seeding annual.

Moroccan Mint
(Mentha piperita) Moroccan Mint Tea is most often a combination of green tea, sugar and fresh mint. It is the making and serving of the tea that is traditional and not necessarily what it is made from. In times past, it has been made from various fresh herbs used singly (like wormwood or mint), with tea (traditionally a dried gunpowder tea from China) or in combination with other fresh herbs. Dried tea and dried mint are a poor substitute for the combination of dried tea and fresh mint.

Egyptian Mint
(Mentha niliaca) Egyptian Mint has a flavor similar to Apple Mint. But, this is a much more robust plant. It is important to keep any rogue green stems cut off. Use it in beverages, as an attractive garnish, in potpourris and in any dish that calls for mint. It makes an attractive and fragrant ground cover, and also grows well in containers and hanging baskets.

Macho Mint
(Mentha spicata) Macho Mint is so called because it is extra tough, extra tasty and extra abundant. To make a Macho mint tea you need to harvest a generous handful of mint: stems, leaves and all. Then wad it up and squeeze it a bit like you would squeeze a wet dishrag. Put that wadded-up, squeezed mint ball in the bottom of a half-gallon pitcher. Fill the pitcher completely to the top with ice, then fill that to the top with water. In 5 minutes you have the most refreshing iced mint tea you have ever experienced!

Strawberry Mint
(Mentha piperita ‘strawberry’) A compact variety of peppermint that bears small, mid-green leaves and has a excellent flavor like strawberries with a bit of chocolate. Easy to grow.

Mint Julep
(Mentha spicata) Mint Julep is named after the famous beverage with Kentucky bourbon. Because of its excellent flavor, Mint Julep is one of the best mints for tea and sweet recipes.

Apple Mint (Woolly Mint)
(Mentha suaveolens) a.k.a. Woolly Mint. Apple mint is a lovely, aromatic plant that can rapidly become obnoxious if not contained. When kept confined, this is a beautiful herb with many fantastic culinary, medicinal and decorative properties. Perfect for cooking, drinks, smoothies, tea.

Orange Mint
(Mentha piperita citrata) Smells of citrus and is spicier than most mints. Requires little care.. Like all mints, Orange  Mint, should be confined to a pot. Mints grow better in pots with lots of surface area rather than lots of depth. The window box above is a perfect container. This box was planted in June with two of our three inch pots. By September, it is nice and full and even trying to escape. By next spring, Orange Mint will need to be divided and repotted with fresh soil.

Kentucky Colonel Mint
(Mentha spicata) Kentucky Colonel Mint is a fragrant herb that was transported by the conquistadors and is sometimes called the “conquistador’s footprint”. Kentucky Colonel Mint is by far the most delicious culinary herb, an improved spearmint for Mint Juleps and Mojitos! Kentucky Colonel Mint is quite easy to grow, and works well indoors. It will readily make itself at home in full sun to partial shade in moist soil. Most gardeners don't have any trouble growing it, they have trouble containing it. Highly aromatic, Kentucky Colonel releases its strong, minty scent when you brush past it. This popular culinary herb has blooms that attract butterflies, however allowing your mint to go to flower will make the leaves taste bitter. I suggest planting two pots of mint: one for you and one for the butterflies.

Thai Mint
(Mentha arvensis ‘thai’) Thai Mint is an aromatic, edible herb with dark green foliage. An exotic mint with a hint of Caraway. Great to add to a diverse range of dishes. In Ayurveda, Thai Min is considered as appetizer and useful in gastric troubles. It is native to the western and central Asia, east to the Himalaya and eastern Siberia. Excellent for teas and hot drinks.

Mexican Mint Tarragon

(a.k.a. Mexican mint marigold, Spanish tarragon, Cempaxochitl, Sweet Mace, Texas tarragon, yerbaniz, Mexican marigold, pericon) Yellow-orange flowers top the branches of this Mexican native from the marigold family. Long leaves are even more flavorful than French Tarragon, with more anise. Use as a spice in egg, chicken, and meat dishes, or with steamed green beans. Grows well in hot climates where French Tarragon does not survive. Try this instead of French Tarragon when making flavored vinegar. Dry or freeze for long-term use. Tender Perennial grown as Annual. 90-100 Days.

Zones 4-11.

Days to Germination: 14-21
Germination Rate: 80-92%

WARNING! The ants are stealing small seeds, so it is better to start indoor.

Please read and follow the planting instruction. It will save your time and efforts!
Do not use heating mat. Keep moist, not letting the seeds dry out between watering. DO NOT cover the seeds with soil! Also, the SOIL should be kept consistently warm at 70-85F. Cool soils, below about 60-65F, even just at night, will significantly delay or inhibit germination. Additionally, overly warm soils, well above 90F, can inhibit germination and provide ideal conditions for seed rot. Over watering can cause fungal growth which leads to seed rot. Excess water can also bury seeds deep in the soil where they will not be able break the surface. Water when the soil surface just begins to dry. Please keep the container covered with a plastic bag on the top of the fridge where the room temperature is higher, therefore the soil temperature is perfect for germination. Once the seedlings are about one inch tall, you can remove the cover for 2-3 hours so they adapt to the sun light, temperature and air humidity level. At this time, you may place the container closer to the sun light. But keep them covered at night until they get stronger. When the plants reach about 2" tall, transplant them into pots; set them out in the garden when they reach 6" tall or after the last frost date.
Plant out after the danger of frost has passed in late spring. Mint will spread vigorously; to control its runners plant in a container sunk into ground. Prefers average, well drained soil and will tolerate dry conditions.

Mints grown in five to six hours of sun develop better color and flavor. In hot summer areas, late afternoon shade helps to cut down on the watering chores. They are hardy to zone 4 and will die back to the ground in winter. Cut Mint to the ground in late fall and it will be fresh and crisp in spring. It may need to be divided in the spring. When the mint stops producing heavily, it is time to thin out the roots.
Soil Facts: Requires a well prepared soil. Use general purpose fertilizer when preparing soil.

Store Seeds:  Store seeds away from children, sealed in their packaging in a cool, dry, dark place, or in a fridge. Never store them in a freezer as the sudden temperature drop is likely to kill them. Don't leave the seeds in direct sunlight as the heat generated may kill.
